Knitting Galore

I thought I would compile all of my knitting projects, pictures of how they turned out- and where you can either purchase or download the patterns to make them! I might even start doing knitting projects with y'all!

Here is the Yin & Yang hat by Jo-Ann's.
This was a pretty simple knit. It was my first time knitting in the round, but honestly if you have never knit in the round before this would be a perfect hat to start with.  I did make both the adult and the child sizes with just the two skeins they tell you that you will need.  Plus that pom-pom is beyond fun to make!
You can find the pattern here. And yes it is free!

Knit Blankets are for Cuddling
This project took me a great deal of time.  Now I say that but I was also taking mini hiatuses in between skeins.  This was the first very large project I set foot into and I was not expecting it to take as long as it did. If I remember correctly the pattern thinks you can knock this blanket out in 8 hours... not sure who's hands move that quickly.  But I will say this blanket is absolutely to die for! It is the right weight to cuddle under and the yarn is so unbelievably soft. It is a basic stocking stitch for the entire length.  The only problem I encountered with this blanket was the yarn was not the easiest yarn to work with.  It really liked to split and leave little strings everywhere.  That being said, once I got used to working with it- it became a lot easier.
You can find this little beauties pattern right here. This one is another freebie.

Link Hat!
I was so happy with this bad boy.  I added the triforce at the tip for an added little flair when he is wearing it.  The fiance absolutely loves the Zelda Collection and this little surprise was more than he could have imagined. It is very warm and sits on the head like a Santa hat.  This was another free pattern (can you catch a pattern here? I like the free ones!) andyou can find it on Ravelry.  I get a lot of my ideas from there- definitely worth the mouse clicks.
This pattern can be found right over here!

Bits and Bops Hedgehogs
I have made SO MANY of these little guys.  Seriously- I think the count is up around 8 or 9 of these adorable little guys.  You can tailor the pattern to meet any size yarn to make different size hedgehogs.  This is one of the few patterns I paid for (but come on look at how cute they are!) but if I remember correctly it was only a dollar or two.  The amount of yarn for these guys are perfect because the pattern was created in mind with using the scraps of yarn you have left over after finishing other projects! Plus in reference to the little terrorizing toddler who likes to put some serious wear and tear into toys- these guys stand up great!
The little hedgehogs can be found here.

Corner to Corner Seed Blanket
This blanket was a very quick knit.  The yarn you use is a but chunkier and builds up fast.  This is another sturdy knit for toddlers that they can't seem to break too easily.  Its till chugging along with it's owner.  Another freebie!
You can find him here.

Straight Knit Blanket
This guy here has no pattern.  I just kinda did what I did for the Cuddle Blanket and shrunk it. If I remember correctly it was roughly 60 stitches across and about 60 rows.  This was also stocking stitch. This particular yarn was another not easy to work with but the end result was worth the struggle.  You definitely have to block it when you are done.

Adorable Elephant
This little guy was so much fun to make.  This was the first of two I made- the second one had the tusks as shown on the pattern.  He was a multiple part project that you piece together after you stuff him up.  The second elephant was reinforced a bit better than the pink guy here.  Trial and error you could say- so if you plan on making him for a toddler I suggest you take your time stitching him up and reinforce the joints.  Other than that he has weathered many washing machine trips- just tumble on low.  And you guessed it- he was free!
You can find his pattern right here.

Barley Hat
This darling hat came out a little too big for my nephews newborn head- but he was maybe a day old here so he definitely grew into it.  The pattern has all different size variations so you can make it for you or for the newest addition to the family.
The pattern is right here. Did I mention it is another free one?

Zion Lion
Everyone was hyping up Wool and the Gang when I made this- so I paid a ridiculous amount of money for this pattern. All in all the pattern wasn't hard at all- but I don't think I would have paid that amount for a pattern if I knew it was that simple.  Essentially it was garter stitch for an allotted amount then switched to stocking stitch until the decrease up.  If you are one of those gifted people who can just eye patterns and figure it out then this would be an easy one for you to do that with.  I did not use the recommending size yarn for this pattern (I was on bedrest at the time and couldn't just run out to Jo-Anns). I have seen this pattern done with the right things and it is gorgeous.
The overpriced pattern can be found here.

Adaptation of Zion Lion
As I mentioned above some people can just eye patterns and figure it out.  I attempted to do this prior to spending the money for the pattern- and this is what ended up happening.  It was a bit too tunnel like when I finished because I did not have the right decrease pattern down- but it definitely was darling on the little miss.

Simply Garter Cowl
This cowl was a super fast build up.  I think I sat down and had this project rocked out in two hours or so.  The yarn is so soft and you just want to curl up in the cowl and fall asleep. It was a gift to my sister who loves using it for walking around IU's campus.  I think it is a definite must for your winter wardrobe- and I still want to make one for myself!
You can find the pattern for this cowl right here.

Bears Rib Scarf
I took a pattern from JoAnns and slightly adapted it to the yarn I was using.  I could not get enough of this blue and orange combo they were selling that looked like it belonged in a Chicago Bear's pro shop.  I have found the tutorial I used on youtube (bonus for you!).  I definitely thought this pattern moved quickly and was able to knock this project out in an afternoon as well.
